Still air and clear skies-

Clear, frosty (probably mid 20’s)

A picture from early in the year.

These are a sign of a cold night here. And it was indeed a cold night again. I was prepared for it this time having shut off my water before hand to prevent any damage to my pipes. Pipes that are not as hardy as house pipes would be.

It’s important to recognize the signs of weather in your area. You have to remain observant. Considering the incoming “administration” who doesn’t understand or care to understand actual science, who are hell bent on dismantling anything to do with the weather service, climatology, and any kind of actual scientific studies concerning such, we may soon be on our own to try and figure it all out.

Those of us in rural microclimates already have to predict our own weather to a degree, but imagine if you didn’t get any advanced warnings on major flood producing systems, cyclones, blizzards, heat waves? What if there were no satellite images and radar to help see what was coming your way?

This is why it’s incredibly important to take your own observations and to learn the patterns of where you are. It’s also proof, down the line, of how the climate changes which will be a very important chunk of scientific information down the line when the billionaires in charge deny the existence of change. An important rebellion in fact, to record such data for the future.

It helps you in the short term, and history in the long term.
