Day off and I was feeling pretty good. I know I should stay home on days like this and work the homestead but I took my dog out for some spoiling fun walking instead at one of the local coastal parks. He deserved a day of spoiling.
Meanwhile, a video I took early in the year of a coast guard rescue in my then front yard, during flooding, paid off with a nicely timed PayPal payment. So I feel like I’m starting to get a tiny bit of cushion. Of course I’m sure that won’t last long. There is always some kind of emergency. A car repair. A vet bill. Etc etc etc that will eat that up and then some. That’s the curse of someone low income disabled. It’s expensive being poor. There never really is any kind of breathing room.
Anyway, it’s the holiday season. I celebrate the solstice but most I know celebrate other days. Being that it’s going to be the new year I have thought about what I hope I can accomplish in 2025 if the world allows it-
- Organization. I want to work on getting every square inch of my camper organized and not so cluttered and frustrating. Also the greenhouses.
- The garden. Especially the food and medicine gardens. But flowers too.
- The orchard pruned and healthy. Several trees are already here but I want to make them healthy and productive.
- Save money if possible. And I’m not sure I trust the money in a bank. Of course I have to use a bank for bills but I don’t necessarily want to keep any savings in there. So I need to think of a safe way to keep it.
- Work on art of course. Maybe even sell art but I’m really not very good at it.
