A beautiful day- but don’t be fooled!

74°F (a record for here), partly cloudy, NW 4 mph wind, 26.87” rain ytd

Trilliums in bloom today in the woods.

It was so beautiful today I spent it all outside. As soon as I was up and moving I jumped into the garden. I planted strawberries, heathers, peonies, cabbage and broccoli seedlings. I transplanted wild lupine seedlings that I started in mass in a winter sowing jug, into little pots for further growing. Sprinkled seeds of alyssum and dwarf marigolds. Sprinkled Indian peace pipe flowering tobacco too.

And I spent some time in the woods, too. I picked nettles for drying and had fun with my pup- introducing him to a new, giant herding ball and all his doggy friends came to visit.

But here is the interesting thing. It’s so easy to be fooled into weather complacency. Tomorrow shall be quite interesting. They are putting out a hail warning. A first for this area concerning dangerously sized hail possible and maybe even twisters.

I’ll keep you updated on how that all unfolds.
