Feels hot and humid.

@ 11 am.

I’m not even bothering to jot the temperature down from the apps today. All the apps are saying different things and they all feel wrong. But the new weather station is arriving today. So things should get a lot more accurate.

I got my watering done for the garden, attempting to give a nice deep drink to raised beds and pots since my vacation is over and I’m going back to work this afternoon. Got a few little things done but let me tell you, that sun is very intense today. It feels burning and humid at the same time. Wearing a hat for me is necessary in the sun.

We are expecting a heatwave. Which might not seem hot to some people but here, it is.

And according to my homeless brother, the cooling shelters for the homeless have been ordered to remain closed.

How true that is, I don’t know. My brother is a lot like my mother in that they both lie and thrive with drama. He isn’t cruel though, so I still talk with him but I take everything with a grain of salt. I don’t trust him at all which is one reason he’s not been welcomed here.

I’ve learned a lot of hard lessons on trust. So unless I really 100% trust someone beyond a shadow of a doubt, I’m not going to let them into the inner circle. Doesn’t matter if they are family or not. Boundaries.

The ducklings are doing well. I gave them fresh bedding, and Gary crafted a top for their bin just in case rats try to get to them.

The cats and dogs are doing well but little Jax rolled in poop at 5:45 am and had to get a bath.

Chickens will be arriving tomorrow morning while I’m still at work. But everything is ready for them so Jay just has to put them in the run, feed them, and turn the electric fence on until I get home.

There was a swarm of bees that flew through the yard and into the woods. But not our bees. Looks to be a lot of honey this year. Lots.

The worm bin is doing great.

So is the pond and the lotus is arriving soon. The wapato is sending up a new plant.

Harvested more broccoli, sprinkled more sluggo plus, and got everything well watered. I gave a lesson to Jay on male and female pumpkin flowers as her husband wants to eat the flowers. She didn’t know squash had different flowers like that. I keep forgetting that people are so disconnected from the land that they just don’t know these things that seem like things I’ve just always known.
