Getting some paws in the sand.

There was some speculation that last night was going to be frosty. It got close- 34.7°F here. But no frost on the ground or the truck. Still, I had taken precautions and brought a few not hardy plants into the camper for the night. And since it’s a clear night again, I brought them in for tonight as well. These plants are lemon grass (the one I’d started from the grocery store) and a couple probably not hardy succulents that someone gave me in exchange for rehoming my monstera plants.

Other things were placed into the cold and broken greenhouse that are questionable hardiness here like the lemon, lime, young olive trees, wild daga, and baby figs. As well as my small cactus collection that overwintered wonderfully in there last winter and rewarded me with loads of blooms all summer long.

Today I just needed a day off from life, from the news of catastrophic flooding in Alaska and Mexico and the catastrophe that is our current horrific government.

And the news that we’ve blown past another tipping point- a point of no return in global warming.

So Rider and I went to the beach. And we walked. And we played. And we picked up pretty rocks to look at.

Tomorrow, it will be a day of chores. Putting the AC away for the year. Laundry. Organization. Cleaning. Putting summer things away. Considering what seeds I need to put into stratification and getting ready to start on next year.

I still need to work on the garden clean up as well but I need to organize the inside most. And I need to winterize my water hose as well. I’ve a pretty long list to attend to.
