They are here!
A bunch of stuff. Of course. I woke up with an awful headache this morning. A migraine, not a hangover mind you. I was at work, so I was out having fun. Ha. But I got home and was greeted by blazing sun and warmth. And chickens. Yes, the chickens had just arrived as IContinueContinue reading “They are here!”
Feels hot and humid.
@ 11 am. I’m not even bothering to jot the temperature down from the apps today. All the apps are saying different things and they all feel wrong. But the new weather station is arriving today. Heat and Aging
52°F, hazy, S 10 mph wind (it was 70° today! Warm!!!) It was definitely spring like today. Portland broke a record for warmth yesterday. We have swung wildly a lot this winter. As far as more climate science, here is another sign that a warming climate is not a good thing for humans. https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/sciadv.adr0616?utm_campaign=Science&utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=ownedSocial&fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR3ZM682JdCx4fDKzs3PyOuYNBChFkBb3QRAu_iWRt67LucoU030R7aiAjQ_aem_OwbldrJgMhL_deNOK_KfbQ ButContinueContinue reading “Heat and Aging”
Sun out, frost in.
That’s the way of winter here. If it’s clear, you get the cold mornings. The frosts. Not Midwest or mountain cold, but you’ll get ice on the windshield and frozen water buckets, which usually thaws by afternoon. Clouds usually moderate the winter temperature here. Which is another reason I chose this area. I’ve lived inContinueContinue reading “Sun out, frost in.”
A Rare Heatwave
Three years ago we were suddenly experiencing record breaking heat for this area. We found ourselves under what was termed a heat dome. Heat dome was a new term for me. Growing up in the Sacramento valley in CA, I was no stranger to heat. We had what was called an inversion layer that coveredContinueContinue reading “A Rare Heatwave”
