45°F (started out 29°), sunny, calm

I gathered a few more containers to get some early spring veggies planted- kale, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, chard, etc.
I had a little help from Freya kitten in the greenhouse.

As I was puttering around I recalled there were some pvc pipes laying around. Have been for a very long time. That gave me an idea and I brought them into the garden to see if they could work with the raised beds. Yes! I can get some frost protection/ bug protection cloth to get plants started with protection. I’ll cut the longer pieces to act as stays/stabilizers to keep the “hoops” in place. I probably need a hacksaw or something like that to cut them.

I fertilized the onion and asparagus seedlings with an organic liquid fertilizer, greatly diluted for the first time. In the past, I really never fertilized seedlings. They got what they got in the seed starter mix with a bit of worm castings mixed in. But I especially need the garden to thrive like never before. So I am giving it a go.
Hi, Freya the kitten. You’re adorable. I also love gardening. I can resonate with your post, Olivia. You have a beautiful name, too.
