They are here!

A bunch of stuff.

Of course. I woke up with an awful headache this morning. A migraine, not a hangover mind you. I was at work, so I was out having fun. Ha.

But I got home and was greeted by blazing sun and warmth. And chickens. Yes, the chickens had just arrived as I pulled into my spot. These are Delaware chickens. 6 3 month old pullets and a rooster.

Then my brother said he was coming by. So no rest for the wicked. I got the birds settled in, took care of the ducklings. Fed the fish and the worm bin. Watered what need to be watered and yes, made a bucket of mud.

A bucket of mud?! Why?!

Well, my lotus root had come also and needed planting right away. And you plant them in mud. Like I did with the cattail and wapato. And I sunk it into the pond.

Meanwhile my little bit of free time for the day was dwindling and it was blazing hot. Which didn’t help my headache. The apps, I’m sure were lying about the temperature here. Even hardheaded Jay was saying that. She is really dead set most times that the app she uses is right usually. 🤣

But that’s ok. I can prove it once I get the weather station up. Which also came at the same time.

I unpacked it and realized this one needs a mounting pole. A metal one. Other past stations I had the option to use wood or tposts. This one didn’t have that so I ordered one and must wait till it arrives.

Then my brother came by. Gave him some camping gear and stuff for his dog. I definitely wasn’t getting a nap today before I had to go back to work. Not that I could nap well as it was approaching 90 degrees in my camper.

Various first aide and medical items also arrived, because it won’t be long I’m sure before my healthcare is cut. Thanks, dtrump. But I bought them on sale. So I will have them if I need them.

  1. So glad to know it’s sunny over there. I came across some news about flooding and heavy rain in certain towns. By the way, I always enjoy reading your blog. Love seeing those Delaware chickens! 😊
    Take care and stay safe.
